Students and new teachers celebrate after a good lesson

In the interview I was explained everything in detail... everything was organized perfectly.

All of the tutors were excellent. I liked having the Teaching Practice sessions so that I have an actual idea of how to teach real people.

I liked the interesting lessons, supportive teachers and professionalism of the school. I cannot think of anything [to change].

This journey proved to me that I can
start thinking seriously about a career in ELT and gave me confidence to start teaching.

What will we do on the CELTA?

The Cambridge CELTA course is a mixture of methodology and practice. You will attend input sessions where experienced teacher trainers will give demonstrations and run workshops about theory, techniques and strategies to use for effective English language teaching. You will also prepare for and teach English language lessons to learners from the local community and write papers about different aspects of teaching.

These three parts will give you the methodological background and real-world teaching practice you need to improve as a teacher.

What will we learn?

The syllabus for CCI English's CELTA course in Israel is based on Cambridge University's tried and tested syllabus. Developed in the 1970s, Cambridge's syllabus has been perfected over time so that today's CELTA course covers the essentials of teaching English in one short-term course.

There are five units in the Cambridge CELTA syllabus.

  1. Learners and teachers, and the teaching and learning context

  2. Language analysis and awareness

  3. Language skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing)

  4. Planning and resources for different teaching contexts

  5. Developing teaching skills and professionalism

These five units prepare Cambridge CELTA course participants to evaluate learners and the learning context, research and understand language, help learners use English more effectively in their lives, and be a productive part of their workplace environment.
